Are you looking for a quick road trip that is sure to get you into the holiday spirit? We have the answer. Andalusia, a quaint small town with a big personality, is hosting the perfect family-friendly Christmas in Candyland celebration which runs December 6 through December 29.
Two venues, including the town square, will feature a HUGE Christmas tree decorated better than the one in Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. With lights on the street, this Candyland-like atmosphere will have music, snow shows, and horse-drawn carriage rides.
At the historic Springdale Estate, kids can explore replicas of Andalusia buildings where Santa Claus and Elsa from Frozen will be there to visit with children (and adults) and pose for photos. Expect performances from the characters of Candyland and the Andalusia Ballet, as the City of Andalusia goes all out to ring in the holiday season.
Holiday Jubilee takes place at St. Mary’s Church on December 7, 11 to 5 pm, where 17 vendors will have hand-made items to purchase. Artists such as Ron Mancil and Roger Powell will be on hand along with candle makers and pressed floral designers. The Church will have fresh Advent wreaths for sale, and Andalusia’s own Sister Schubert will be signing her cookbooks. There will be food, music, and more!
Downtown Andalusia was voted Southern Living’s Top Small Town in the South for its Christmas decorations and lights, with photo opportunities for families.
