We recently learned about a new 8-room hotel in the historic district of downtown Pensacola, Oyster Bay Boutique Hotel. On a recent visit to Pensacola, we decided to drop by, and we are glad we did! We met Jessica Berry, who gave us a tour of the property located at 400 Bayfront Parkway. At first sight, it feels like a place to come to relax and enjoy.
Developed, owned, and operated by the Studer Family of Companies, the property’s concept was to capture the local architectural authenticity of Pensacola in a two-story bayfront property. The design is clean, crisp, and inviting. It’s the first hotel built with sustainability and wellness in mind. The wide wrap-around porches invite you to de-stress in a peaceful environment while enjoying the views of Pensacola Bay and the distant beaches.
The interior is simple contemporary luxury and feels welcoming, not fussy. There is a large kitchen just off the lobby sitting area with many kinds of refreshments, fresh fruit, and beverages for the guests. They even sell the highly coveted Krewe sunglasses from New Orleans.
Each room is well-appointed with local original art. Some rooms have semi-private balconies overlooking the Bay.
Oyster Bay has a distinctly New Orleans feel with a large, beautifully landscaped courtyard which is perfect for events, retreats, and receptions with several configurations to fit your needs. Just three blocks from Palafox Street, the heart of Pensacola’s entertainment district, Oyster Bay is well-situated to host family and friend reunions, and corporate retreats. Jessica tells us that they have hosted wellness retreats where Peloton equipment was set up on the porches and guests were led through a specialized program by local instructors.
Oyster Bay Boutique Hotel was completely renovated with sustainability in mind. Mallory Studer, the general manager, oversaw the construction by Bare General Contractors in Pensacola and worked with Quin Stinson on the interior design and furnishings from DUH for Garden & Home for the interior décor. “We wanted a contemporary coastal feel that inspired, yet also wanted the property to be environmentally friendly. We incorporated several aspects including geothermal heating and cooling, conscious recycling, water filtration systems, and eco-friendly amenities throughout the property.”
Additional room amenities include Peacock Alley luxury bed linens and bathrobes and Oyster Bay Boutique Hotel signature DRIFT scented candles and diffusers.
The signature scented products can be purchased in the main lobby’s retail experience that is curated with KREWE sunglasses, accessories from Grit & Grace Studio, sustainable quick dry beach towels from Dock & Bay, and a mix of locally made items.
Everything about Oyster Bay Boutique Hotel is inviting. The location, the beautifully landscaped courtyards, and the simple but luxurious interior, all make this a property to get excited about!
