Twice this past week we had out-of-towners in for a visit and wanted a nice, leisurely breakfast place to enjoy good food and company. Two Sisters in Fairhope hit the spot—both times! In a beautiful outside setting, we sat on the deck sipping coffee under a magnificent old Live Oak while our breakfast was being prepared.

I love Two Sisters. Elizabeth and Debra, along with husband/brother-in-law John Lazano, run two locations with slightly different names and offer fresh-made fare sure to please the palate. On the breakfast side, we started with fresh powdered sugar-dusted beignets, a New Orleans favorite. Two Sisters offer all sorts of breakfast wraps, sandwiches, and traditional egg dishes, all served with fresh fruit. The Waffle Sandwich and Little Italy panini are two of my favorites.

For lunch, it’s hard to beat the Rueben, but the Chicken Salad Sandwich is also hugely popular. Two Sisters, with a location on Scenic 98 in Fairhope and one on U.S. Highway 98 in Daphne has been around for 11 years and they know what they are doing. You can dine in or take out. Besides delicious sandwiches, they also offer fresh salads, wraps, shakes, malts, and smoothies with a large variety of bakery goods including gluten-free desserts, cookies, and brownies.

You can't go wrong with a refined menu that has something for everyone. They even serve a local favorite, Cammie’s Homemade Old Dutch Ice Cream. Someone's paying attention!

Now I’m hungry!
