September is shaping up to be a great month for the Scenic 98 Coastal community with temperatures (hopefully) starting to cool off, football season in full swing, and a packed slate of events to enjoy. With the Autumn Equinox approaching on September 22, several communities have festivals scheduled for September 21. The month of July always kicks off in high gear with Independence Day celebrations across the country. Communities and venues throughout the Scenic 98 Coastal area are hosting events to commemorate the holiday, so be sure to check out the Tidbits & Best Bets section at the end of the newsletter for all of this weekend’s events.

Summer is in full swing throughout the Scenic 98 Coastal community, although it doesn’t officially start until the Summer Solstice on June 20th. The extra daylight hours are a welcome opportunity to get outside and enjoy the natural beauty of our community whether it's biking, fishing, sailing, playing sports, or just relaxing on the beach!

The 37th Louis Vuitton America’s Cup, the world’s oldest and most prestigious sporting competition which predates the modern Olympic Games (which began in 1896), will be held from late August to October in Barcelona, Spain. Many of our Scenic 98 Coastal friends will be in attendance, and for good reason!

In July of 2018, Rachel Hadley was 22 weeks pregnant when her organs started shutting down. On July 4, doctors performed an emergency C-Section and delivered twins Scarlett and Jesse at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital. The babies went immediately to the NICU, where they would stay for more than six months.

With Spring in full swing, it’s a great time to get out and enjoy all the natural beauty in the Scenic 98 Coastal area. Many festivals and other events are scheduled for April, both in our area and across the Gulf Coast region.
