For eight days, from one side of Mississippi to the other, antique cars and trucks, celebrities, food, music, and contests await you along the Gulf Coast. Any day and every day is a good time to go and see the spectators lined up and down U.S. Highway 90 watching a steady stream of all the cars and trucks you have ever loved!
I visited with Co-founder and Executive Director, Woody Bailey last week, over lunch at the world-famous Mary Mahoney’s Old French House Restaurant in Biloxi. The excitement is palpable as patrons and staff at the restaurant stop by to say how much they look forward to the biggest car show in America, which begins this Sunday.
Last year’s show had over 10,000 registered vehicles from 45 states, and also Canada, Germany, and England. Entering its 28th year, this year’s event is on track to equal or surpass the 2023 edition. Whether you choose a day trip from the Scenic 98 Coastal area or an extended stay, prepare to be enthralled.
Mississippi’s coast, known as the “Secret Coast", is a collection of cities and towns known as “jewels in the crown”. Each community will host events featuring a constant parade of vintage vehicles. Each fall, Cruisin’ the Coast offers great opportunities to learn about the history, art, and food of the area.
Billed as ‘America’s Longest Block Party, Woody, who is well-traveled, says “This is the greatest place in the world to live, and the secret sauce is the people.”
